INDEPENDENT MEDIA CENTER PLANNED FOR APRIL 16 IMF/WORLD BANK PROTESTS IN
WASHINGTON, D.C.

Daily 24-hour Coverage of Protests Available at http://www.indymedia.org

A Washington DC Independent Media Center, created by a coalition of
independent video makers, radio producers, journalists and media
activists will provide up-to-the-minute coverage of events surrounding
the 2000 Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank. During the WTO
protests in Seattle last November, the Seattle-Independent Media Center
(IMC) projected the voice of people on the streets. It's site,
http:www.indymedia.org received over 1.5 million hits.

The Washington DC-IMC journalists will provide in-depth investigations
into the problems associated with the IMF and World Bank policies, as
well as viable alternatives to current programs. Via a unique
